Prospect Signals Asian Intent
Engineering company Prospect has indicated it really means business in Asia with two high-profile appointments.
Dr Matt Straw has been appointed as Regional Director for Prospect’s Asia-Pacific operation, while June Lim has been appointed as Regional Sales Manager for the Asia-Pacific region. These key appointments follow the recent opening of its Singaporean subsidiary, Prospect Asia Pte Ltd (“Prospect Asia”), and demonstrate Prospect’s commitment to developing its business in the growing Asian energy market.
Matt is an experienced engineer who joined the Prospect board in 2004 and was instrumental in its international growth while he served as Sales and Marketing Director. His new role is a significant step in Prospect’s strategy to expand its worldwide engineering operation within major oil and gas hubs.
June will also be based in Prospect’s Singapore office where she will be responsible for developing existing relationships with Prospect’s clients and building new relationships with operators and contractors in the region who will benefit from Prospect’s engineering in fields such as subsea, offshore construction and renewable energy.
Jonathan D’Arcy, Prospect managing director, said: “Asia-Pacific is a key market for Prospect’s global expansion and Matt’s extensive international business experience with Prospect, combined with his engineering background, makes him the ideal candidate to lead Prospect Asia.
“I’m also delighted to announce that June Lim has joined our operation in Asia, she brings many years of experience developing relationships with a wide range of clients. June’s energy and knowledge of the industry will be an asset to Prospect as we continue our growth in exciting Asia-Pacific markets.”
Commenting on his appointment, Matt said: “It is an exciting time to make this move to Singapore following Prospect’s strong entry into Asia having secured significant subsea and renewable energy projects. Prospect’s Singapore-based team will play an important role in Prospect’s growth as an engineering company and the wider Hallin Group’s activities as an integrated subsea contractor.”
June commented: “I look forward to expanding our presence throughout Asia and I am privileged to be part of this great team, offering our clients first-class engineering design and analysis consultancy as well as wider development project services.”
